Hey, I am a seasoned outdoors woman trying to plan a "lighter" Alaska adventure (no cruises) with some friends of mine. They’re kinda cityish and soft, so no mountain climbing, backpacking in the wilds, etc., like I want to do. Am thinking of stuff to do that’s outdoors for a week. Already am considering Denali for an option.
Any ideas?
THANKS!
Take a train ride to Whittier, Alaska.
Alaska Rail Road: The World famous Alaska Railroad provides land access to "Whittier". You can catch the train in Anchorage or at Portage and ride through the tunnel into town. The ride is very scenic and worthwhile. Check this link for the train schedule.
