  • how can i convince my parents to go to orlando for vacations again?

Posted by admin on July 13th, 2010 and filed under adventure vacations | 1 Comment »

i love to go there but how can i convince my parents to go there…
i have already tell that i want to go there but they say that orlando is the only place that i know as a destination…
besides, i wanna go because of the new atraction of harry potter in islands of adventure
    so, please help mw!!
i have go to orlando 2 times

Tell your parents you want to go there because you know your chances of having great weather the whole vacation is just about one hundred percent and you wouldn’t want them to have lousy weather on their vacation.
Then tell them how much you love Harry Potter and would like to explain the whole Harry Potter Story to them if you can take them to the exhibit.
Then say your prayers every night asking God that you go where He thinks it is best for your family to go on vacation and tell him how much you would like to go to Orlando and if it be His will that you Thank Him for it.
But if things turn out differently go with an open mind knowing that you want to be pleasant on your parents vacation and maybe there will be a reason you don’t get there this vacation because maybe God has something much bigger in store for you and you will be as happy as happy can be.
Have a nice vacation wherever you go and don’t pout if it’s not Orlando, I’m sure you will get to go again at another time in your life. Possibly on a school trip.

Great learning , volunteer or adventure vacations? Your suggestion?

I am looking for a vacation out of the normal sit on a beach or stroll through exhibits… I would like to learn a skill ie sailing, learn a language, climb a mountain, help build infrastructure for an impoverished village etc. something more meaningful. Please tell me about your ideas and or experiences. Thanks

I don’t like the "voluntourism" websites because they expect you to PAY to volunteer for stuff.

    Try this place:

It’s near Siem Reap, Cambodia, which is renowned for the amazing Angkor Wat temple complex.

what is the best park to go to Disney or Universal Island of Adventure?

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under adventure vacations | 6 Comments »

My friends and I are on vacation and we want a fun park to go to. We are in our early 20’s so we won’t be going on any small kid rides. Which park is better for a bunch of young adults who like rollercoasters?

I’m 30 and I just got back from universal islands of adventure and disney both. And it is Universal islands of adventure for the win!! It was awesome. Disney is great and all but the lines are looooong and it is hot! Islands of adventure has lots of water rides, check out the incredible hulk on you tube, it was great, they have jurassic park, harry potter, oh man I miss it!! So after doing both universal is the best dueling dragons, check that out too! They have universal city walk there too, and that is fun to check out as well. Either or you will have fun, but I vote for universal.

    Island/vacation – Adventure/Horror movie, what is it?

Posted by admin on June 15th, 2010 and filed under adventure vacations | 1 Comment »

Ok, this is really wierd, and I can’t for the life of me think of this movie. I remember seeing a trailer for it at some point. Don’t know if it was online, or another movie, and can’t even remember how long ago I saw it (but at least a couple months)

It seemed to be an adventure/horror type film, but not much was reavealed by the trailer. For some reason I’m thinking it took place on an island (not sure on that though) or while a couple/group of people were on a vacation. In the trailer it showd a man and woman (maybe a group) of people hiking on some clifs…i think. and maybe some of them disappeared?

Anyways I don’t think it’s out yet on DVD, and honestly, I don’t know if its even been to theaters yet. I sort of think it hasn’t because I think I woulda heard something about it, or seen another trailer on tv. Maybe the one trailer i saw was just a really early teaser trailer????

but then again, maybe it was just a critical flop. which doesn’t matter cuz there have been plenty of movies that the critics didn’t like that i did.

Also, it looked like it was filmed good with cool outdoor views, young actors, I don’t think there were any really big A list actors in it. Thats about all i can remember, If you know what i’m talking about, please tell, thanks

    A Perfect Getaway (2009)

… should I leave the Gideon’s Bible’s alone or do something specific to them?

You could bring a highlighter and highlight the "Top 10 Worst Bible Verses"
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/religion/6120373/Top-10-worst-Bible-passages.html

You know, just as a public service announcement for those who think the Bible is just a book that says "Love they neighbor" and such.

Or, just order room service & forget the thing is even in the drawer.

Northwest & BC Adventure Vacation Ideas?

Posted by admin on May 14th, 2010 and filed under adventure vacations | 1 Comment »

How to find, plan, book and save a dime?

We like to do as much adventure, activities, sightseeing and dinning as one can anywhere in the NW, not just Vancouver, Victoria, Whistler and Seattle. So tell us anything you can, as well as how to save a dime, when booking a group of 8 with 4 rooms? We are free nearly all of June except between June 10th to 20th. We are free for more than 4 or more days and nights, but less than 10. We’re also thinking of staying at the Marriott in Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver and Whistler each for more than one night. But if we do stay more nights, what SHOULD we do and where to eat? What are the 3 most adventurous and entertaining things to do and eat in each of those “AREA” that time of year? Plus how to save a dime when doing them and getting to them?

Our basic plan is to start in

    Day 1

Transportation; Seaplane from Seattle to Victoria

    Day 2
Adventure; Gardens, Zip line, Whale watching, Salmon BBQ

    Day 3

    Ferry to Vancouver

    Adventure ???

    Day 3

    Train to Whistler

    Day 4 adventure ??

    Day 5

    Train to Seattle

    Day 6 Adventure??

Just look up special events to do in the area on popular travel sites.

Where are the best adventure vacations in the world?

I am planning an adventure vacation. Which of the following places would you find most interesting?

Posted by admin on April 16th, 2010 and filed under adventure vacations | 11 Comments »

    1. British Columbia.
    2. Alaska.
    3. Maine.

I love the wilderness and mountains, and I would welcome any other suggestions. I want to get away from it all!

I lived in Alaska for 3 years and personally I loved it. However I think you should spend at least 2 weeks there and book whatever youre interested in doing there ahead of time, you might want to take a cruise to see the fjords, you might want to see wildlife or just go camping and hiking. Whaterver your interests I definately suggest setting things up ahead of time because you wont want to waste time while youre there. Maine is nice so is BC but Alaska is the Last Fronteer!!

Is it worth it to go to Islands of Adventure in Orlando?

I booked a vacation to Florida for May since I thought the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be open but since they pushed it to June what rides and attractions will be available in Islands of Adventures? I have been there a couple of times, my kid really likes it but if the Harry Potter world is taking over a considerable section of IoA, like they took the dueling dragons roller coaster and turned it into a HP ride for example, then is there any point of going there now?

Well, if you have been before, you know what they have. There’s nothing much new in quite a while. But if you liked it before, you’ll like it again. Dueling Dragons is currently open, but it may close again at any time. There are several good rides there, but in my opinion, I usually get done about lunchtime because it is a small park. You can also do Universal Studios, which is a good full day park.

It is possible, likely in fact, that Harry Potter will do "soft" openings during May. Soft openings is when they open an attraction for test purposes. It could be open 5 minutes or 5 hours. So keep your eyes open if you go. You might get a chance to be one of the first people to see part of the park!

Does anybody know the official opening date of the new Harry Potter park at Islands of Adventure?

The only thing I’ve heard or seen is spring 2010, but I’m trying to plan a vacation down there and I want to make sure it’s going to be open when I go. I was planning for mid June but you never know if things will be pushed back.

That’s the only thing that has been announced. Unfortunately, Universal does have a long history of pushing back their opening dates, so just keep checking! There’ s a lot of interest in excitement in this, and there will be a lot of seriously disappointed people if they miss their deadline – but that’s never stopped them before when they have opened things late! I would imagine that they are going to try their best to get it open for the summer crowds, so I would hope you will get to see it. But with Universal, you just never know until it happens.
