  • Is Flatdog Adventure a reputable travel company?

Posted by admin on October 20th, 2010 and filed under adventure travel | 1 Comment »

I am looking to spend a year travelling, and was wondering if anyone has experience of travelling with them. I am looking to do an overland trip through Asia and Africa. Thanks

I’ve not heard about them before, and would be a tiny bit dubious of any travel company that doesn’t appear to be registered to any travel organisation. They maybe cheaper than other group travel companies, but I personally like assurances! travelbag is a long establish company and they are ABTA affiliated

How much would you pay for a used travel system?

Posted by admin on October 14th, 2010 and filed under adventure travel | 7 Comments »

I’m selling a travel system that is still in great shape and some extras- 3 car seat bases, an extra car seat cover, and a Bundle Me in addition to the standard stroller and car seat. The system retails for about $200 new (without the extras). What do you think is a fair price or what would you be willing to pay for this? I’m putting it on Craigslist if that makes a difference. It’s an Eddie Bauer Adventure Travel System.

I would start out for half the price and then be willing to go down. When buying used I usually want 1/2 off.

I know others have said they wouldnt buy a used carseat, but not everyone can afford to purchase a new one. I’d go half.

Best Digital and Digital SLR Camera for Underwater and Adventure Travel?

Posted by admin on October 9th, 2010 and filed under adventure travel | 3 Comments »

We are going to Brazil And I am looking for a really good SRL Camera with video.
My fiance can’t spend more than $700

I normally recommend Canon but The Nikon D5000 could be a great alternative. The D5000’s 24-fps HD D-Movie mode with sound captures video clips with amazing clarity-offering new and exciting creative opportunities. Fast, accurate 11-point autofocus with 3D Tracking, will probably please you a lot.
I believe the pricing is a little bit under $700. Good luck!

Buying an additional Car Seat Base for Eddie Bauer Ashland Adventure Travel System?

Posted by admin on October 6th, 2010 and filed under adventure travel | 1 Comment »

I am looking for an extra base for the Eddie Bauer Travel System. We have one in our pickup but I would also like one in my car. Does anyone know where to find one online? I have found them for the other travel system that Eddie Bauer (Endeavor) offers but not the Adventure system. The product number is 01603AAI. Please help as our baby is due in less than two weeks!! Thanks!!

It might be best to contact the manufacturer. I found this on the web site. They show one base, but I could find no info on if it would work for your seat or not. You could contact them and ask.

How do I order additional parts and accessories for my car seat?
Dorel Juvenile Group does not recommend the use of any car seat accessories except those items that have been produced and approved for your seat by the car seat manufacturer. All accessories and additional parts can be ordered from the Consumer Relations Department. You must have your model number and manufacturing date of the product to order parts, accessories, or instructions. To order, e-mail the Consumer Relations Department at consumer@djgusa.com, fax us at 1-800-207-8182, or write to the following address: Dorel Juvenile Group Consumer Relations Department P.O. Box 2609 Columbus, IN 47202-2609. You may also contact the Consumer Relations Department at 1-800-544-1108 where you can speak to a Consumer Relations Representative. What is a good career for some one who likes adventure and travel?

    1. NOT A SOLDIER OR ANY THING TO DO WITH THE MILITARY
    2. As long as it has decent pay (30k+per year) then i don’t care about salary
    3. Requires thinking
    4. Each day is different
    5. Perks?

Even though you said non military I would recommend the Coast Guard, get the perks of a gov’t job with the adventure of working in the Coast Guard.

Could work in parks/rec management- get to be a game wardern or similar job where you can be outdoors and manage an outdoor area

Pilot- get to fly to different places and each day is most likely different unless you fly cargo or commercial, bush pilot would be fun in the NorthWest territories.

State biologist- basically a guy that goes all over the state doing wildlife and nat resource activities, ranging from helping ranchers keep wolves from eatign their cattle to ensuring that a construction project doesnt interfere with a local ecosystem.

Perks are getting paid for somethign you love haha

I might think of some later but thats all for now haha hope it helps

    Cheap Adventure Travel?

Posted by admin on April 20th, 2010 and filed under adventure travel | 2 Comments »

Interested in traveling the world on the cheap … not so much to save money, but to experience the world outside of hotels and eateries that all look and feel the same. I’ve seen GAP Adventures (www.gapadventures.com) and it looks real good. I’d like to know about other’s experiences.
