  • i want to go on a tornado chasing tour, whats the best chance of seeing a twister?

Posted by admin on October 25th, 2010 and filed under adventure tours | 2 Comments »

I’ve had a look at ’storm chasing adventure tours’ and they claim to be the best company with the best know how. However they say that only 25% of tours actually see a tornado, is there a particular time thats better to see a tornado eg is the beginning of the season more tornadic than the end of the season?

Try late April to early May in western Oklahoma. If you can find high temps like high 70’s to low 90’s and track the jet stream about 5:30 in the evening, you could get blown away!

The storms generally blow to the Northeast from the southwest.

As a first time visitor to Costa Rica who speaks only english, where are best places to visit during January?

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under adventure tours | 2 Comments »

We are a senior citizen couple (ages 66 & 64, relatively good health) with 6 days to enjoy the country. We love nature, history and culture, but not keen on high energy adventure tours or very formal dining and entertainment.

My three favorite places to visit in Costa Rica are Tortuguero, Arenal, and Manual Antonio.

There is a great tour to Tortuguero where they pick you up in San Jose and bring you back a couple days later. You ride on a riverboat through canals filled with wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, anteaters, birds and then stay in a nice hotel. At night they can arrange for you to hire a guide to take you on the beach to see nesting sea turtles or baby sea turtle hatchlings. The tour guides of the riverboat tour are Fran and Modesto and they are wonderful!! Send Fran an email and she is quick to answer ALL of your questions. Here is the website— http://www.tortuguerocanals.com/text/home/home.shtml

The Arena Volcano is amazing! There is plenty to do in this little area including hiking, going to the hot springs, visiting the little town of La Fortuna and relaxing at your hotel watching the constant flow of the lava. I am planning to stay again at Hotel Linda Vista Del Norte. http://www.hotellindavista.com/ Make sure to get a room with "lava views."

Manuel Antonio is located on the West Coast and is definitley the most Americanized out of the three locations. It includes some beautiful beaches and a national park for hiking. There are plenty of hotels and condos to rent.

San Jose is the best place to learn about the history and culture so maybe spend a day or so there. Good luck with all of your planning. CR is such a wonderful place to visit! Oh and don’t worry about not speaking Spanish. I tried to brush up on my Spanish speaking skills before my last trip but then all of the locals spoke to me in English. I had to ask them to speak in Spanish so I could give it a try!

NW & BC Seaplane and Ferry suggestions and ideas for trips, tours and adventure?

Posted by admin on June 15th, 2010 and filed under adventure tours | 1 Comment »

Please tell me anything you have done and like or not.

I once took the ferry from Prince Rupert to Vancouver. Amazing trip! Stunning beauty all the way, and a real mix of interesting people to travel with. Not like a cruise ship – not a lot to do or anything, but the scenery made up for that.

Vancouver Island has a lot to offer. Long Beach, and Cathedral Grove are just two places well worth a visit. Long Beach is great for surfing, which is very popular there although I found the water extremely cold!

looking for a tour company that services Turkey and Greece that are comparable to Intrepid Tours?

Posted by admin on May 21st, 2010 and filed under adventure tours | 1 Comment »

I am holidaying in Greece and Turkey in September and want to take a group tour. I really like adventure tours (but nothing too physically demanding as I’ll be traveling with an elderly relative).

I have taken Intrepid tours before and have been very impressed, however they don’t have any available tours that suit our dates this time around.

Can anyone recommend any ethical tour companies? Preferably ones that use local guides where possible and local transport (don’t really like coach tours)?

Which country are you coming from? It depends on which country you re coming from to !!
your tour oparater cheapest and safest way to arange that to you!

Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics – Do I have a faulty copy?

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2010 and filed under adventure tours | 1 Comment »

In the Adventure Tours, my daughter completes the Ultimate Figure Skating with Daisy and collects a fourth crystal then gets stuck. Can’t get Mario to move anywhere.

The little series of messages come up saying that the the exclamation marks have gone etc but then Mario just stands there, won’t move. No buttons do anything.

Is she missing something? She’s got the game to this point 5 times now and still the same thing. I’ve tried too but no luck.

    Any help appreciated.

Depending on where you got your game, you may return it and choose another game or get your money back, or see if it has been damaged. If it has been damage , you can by cd resin from any well known gaming retail store ,or if it’s a DS Game, you can use rubbing alcohol and a face towel and clean the back where the grooves are at. If the game still doesn’t work after this, you should return you game for a refund. Hope this helps!

Death Valley Tours from Vegas in June?

Posted by admin on March 2nd, 2010 and filed under adventure tours | 5 Comments »

Does anyone know of any reliable tour companies that provide Death Valley Tours from Las Vegas in June? I checked out a few (Look Tours, Adventure Tours) that say they need a minimum 4 passengers and they are seasonal only until May. I then checked out this website called DeathValleyTours.net and it doesn’t seem like a secure website. I couldn’t find anything on it on the BBB site nor did I see a secure little sign at the bottom indicating it’s a safe site to enter credit card info into. Anyone know of it? Or know of any tour companies that do tours from Vegas to Death Valley.

Hello Sandi: Few people know how beautiful Death Valley is. There is only one reliable tour company, that I know of that goes to Death Valley ALL YEAR. This company is Action Tours…Vegas Phone # (702)566-7400. Website…
