  • Alaska adventure vacations?

Posted by admin on October 6th, 2009 and filed under adventure vacations | 1 Comment »

A friend I and would like to explore Alaska. Hiking, climb some peaks, kayaking, backpack the back country. Any good websites where we could to this? Also, best place to do all of this in Alaska?

Alaska is Huge with lots of places you can do what your talking about:

Spend some time looking over these websites to help plan your trip.

You might enjoy renting a car to live / camp out of as you explore. In which case the Milepost is hands down the best guide for the road system and whats available on and off it. It stays current and has good info on whats on the road (camping spots, trail head, rivers, interesting sites)

Also public lands and parks are a great resource in the state:

The Alaska Railroad can also help with transport, and travels through some great scenery:

Spend some time digging around and you can set up your dream trip
