Per se Adventure Tourism in India is limited to some pockets in the Himalayan belt and few in the forests of Karnataka. Predominant adventure activity is trekking and you have umpteen popular treks available in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir (especially in Ladakh region), & Uttarakhand. The respective state tourism boards do promote adventure tourism. You also have white water rafting in Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand. There are less popular spots in Arunachal Pradesh & Assam and perhaps a couple in Karnataka. Most other Indian states boast heritage more than adventure per se.
Of course if you consider forest treks/safaris as adventure than you have many many more options ranging from the National Parks in Madhya Pradesh (Bandhavgarh, Pench, Kanha, Sendhwa, Panna), Uttar Pradesh (Dudhwa), Uttarakhand (Jim Corbett, Nanda Devi Biosphere), Assam (Manas, Kaziranga), Karnataka (Coorg, Bandipur), Kerala (Waynad), Orissa (Similipal), Andhra Pradesh (Srisailam, Kinnersani) among others.
Sure , India is good for Adventure Tourism . The High peaked mountains ice-skating, rock climbing, river rafting are good for various adventure sports . References : http://www.reviewofplaces.com/india/india.html
