Hey went to the … Hey went to the Alamo today, since today is the last day of summer for me. It seems there is a basement in the alamo gift shop. I asked the tour guide and he asked me if I had seen this movie. lol
Many things are … Many things are wrong with this scene.. since the alamo is considered sacred ground, it is always suggested at the door for everyone to take off their hat. Also the tour is nothing like this…well..not anymore.. they took the corn part out now lol. And I have checked again..there is no basement.. There is supply shed though.. and for some reason people on the tour know where ozzy peed on the alamo. They forgot the gift shop, which people usually go to after the tour.
Watch the tourist … Watch the tourist with the cowboy hat and moustache. He gets WAAAY too into the tour, especially when they say “adobe” and “buenos dias.” LOL
“Vapid mirth.” I … “Vapid mirth.” I love that phrase. And your insight about the obvious non-Texan with a cowboy hat: I totally hadn’t thought of that, but it’s perfect… and I did find myself wearing a lei in Florida (at a ty luau) a week or two ago.
I could watch this … I could watch this a bazillion times and still want moremoremore…that expression contrast has always killed me, too…rolling-back-in-the-head eyes vs. vapid mirth inches away…the guy’s probably umed to be from Michigan or something, but wearing the cowboy hat (and, surely, boots) since he’s in TX. Like Ohioans wearing leis and flowery Hawaiian garb all week/packing in EVERY group tour possible during their week-long Honolulu stay. Oh, thank my parents hated these as much as I did !
Pee Wee’s … Pee Wee’s expressions… absolutely, -your-pants funny, especially in contrast to the older, moustached guy in the cowboy hat (the one doing a brilliant rendition of idiot tourist enthusiasm-on-command). Love this more, each time I watch it.
