  • Any low cost activities/ideas to do with kids during the summer?

Posted by admin on June 24th, 2010 and filed under adventure activities | 4 Comments »

I have a 3yr old a 9 month old… they are bored. We have been to the beach, pool, ect. I need some more activities to do. Games, ect. Something to wear them out! lol I am a stay at home mom and I feel like we are on repeat. We need some adventure in our lives… help please! Any ideas?

This is my summer bucket list: http://thesummerlist101.webs.com/
Its basically a list of things I need to do starting June 16th (when I get out of school) up until school starts again (late august/early September).
Along with blogging about my mini-adventures, there will be video and photo updates. Keep tabs, because updates will be made every few days!

    Good luck :)

Kids need, and want, a routine. I would start with planning out your week and do something different every day. For example:

      Mon – Swimming
      Tues – Museum
      Wed – playground
      Thurs – beach
      Fri – Shopping

And then just do the same thing every week.

Are there any museums around your home? Most are free or cheap, especially for kids. What about a zoo? Ours is cheap for me and free for the kids, the LOVE the animals. How about parks or hiking trails? Just make sure to pack water and sunscreen, and if it’s shaded do tick checks after your hike. Do you have sidewalk chalk? My 21 month old loves to color and he thinks chalk is pretty cool. What about malls? They’re air conditioned and it’s free to window shop, or you can actually shop. Plus my son loves to run and ours has fountains he loves to watch.

Check out local libraries for summer reading fun
      Go to different playgrounds
Get involved in a playgroup and meet other Moms (talk to other adults)
