  • What is your ultimate New Zealand adventure activity and why?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure activities | 39 Comments »

Firstly I would have to say go to Queenstown; such an amazing place!!! Every adventure activity you could ever think of (and more) you can organise in Queenstown.

I would highly recommend doing the ‘Canyon Swing’. It’s a cross between a bungee jump and one of those swings at the local park….. except that there is a massive 60m free-fall drop.

It was such an awesome rush that I had to go and do it twice :-)

If someone offers you an Adventure Tour to Baghdad, Iraq – for a week at a reasonable price would u take it?

TRAVEL IDEAS WANTED: Solo female looking for outdoor travel adventure ideas?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under outdoor adventure | 4 Comments »

    Hi there!

Hoping to draw on the experience of all you travellers out there!! I’m located in Canada but am open to travel in many parts of the world.

I’m looking for a fun, flexible, & memorable adventure to do by myself this year. In the past I’ve hiked through Ireland, kayaked in BC. To give you an idea of what I’m looking for, it would meet the following criteria:

    - 7-10 days
    - outdoor adventure
    - safe (i.e. no threat of being eaten alive by mountain lions because I’m travelling alone, or raped because I’m a woman travelling alone)
    - physical (hiking, cycling etc..)
    - inexpensive (open to camping, hostels, & inexpensive hotels etc)
    - potential for cultural exposure
    - not too much prep/research required
    - travel months either July, Sept-December this year

Look forward to hearing from you!

    Hello,

I spent 2 weeks last year hitchiking around Ireland and a week and a half this year driving around Ireland. I rented a car when I got into the airport without having prior set up.
I purchased the flight for 431 dollars which is really amazing. Fly Aer Lingus if you go. www.aerlingus.com The earlier you book the more you save with European airlines. Unlike the states.

I stayed in hostels both times except recently, i was in dublin in saint patricks day without prior booking to a hotel. go to www.hostelworld.com for hostels in and around Ireland.

The people in Ireland are as beautiful as the country itself. I would suggest going during the summer months because.
    1. there is more greenery
    2. there are more festivals
    3. it is warmer

There is a twon near the cliffs of Moher called Doolin (the clifs of Moher are the highest cliffs in Europe with beautiful scenery to see. Stay in doolin lots of fun people and music festivals, at least for a day or two

What is the best detective or adventure Korean or Japanese drama?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure | 2 Comments »

Recently I read recommendations for dramas such as air city, CIB, HIT, etc .. Are these good? I am interested in entertaining detective or adventure dramas. Do you have any recommendation for such a drama?

Yain sidae, they have clips on YouTube. It’s about the formation and rebellion of Korean organized crime against the Japanese occupation and the Japanese Yakuza.

A few days vacation time coming up and looking for an exciting rockin’ solo adventure in the USA. Any tips?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure vacations | 1 Comment »

Not big on nightlife (clubs) since I’ll be alone. 23 years old and never been to a concert, would be awesome to check out some indie and rock concerts and outdoor fun and excitement for nightlife. The perfect mix would be somewhere in the USA that’s hot and beach! Coming from the northeast usa so a beach would be so great!

San Diego may be the best place in the world for outdoor fun – you can surf, sail, skydive, hike, bike, veg. People are friendly and the night scene is good.

I know you said no clubs, but I had to put Confidential because my friend is part owner – they’re very nice.

Are there any plans to build Tourism resorts in the South East of Turkey?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure tourism | 3 Comments »

I haven’t heard of any resorts around that region and was wondering is it possible in the next 10 years to fly there and have adventure tourism access as well as resort? Like I think it would be AWESOME to have things like hang gliding, bungy jumping, sky diving, parachuting, snow boarding, hiking & camping facilities cause I heard that the area is home to unique plants species and flora. The natural springs look amazing too, I imagine it to be something like the tourism in New Zealand. I know that there are no beaches around there but how about the rivers, my understanding is that in france they convert a river in the city to a resort over summer – so this is a possibility too, I think. It would be a benefit to the whole of Turkey, as the country would feel bigger with a wider accessibility to domestic and international tourism. What do u guys think? Am I being naieve or is this a possibility in the coming years. Also, it would at least be an addition to the economy and a new angle of promotion for Turkey in the international market as well. I think it’s a great idea, but I don’t know the reality of such plans, whether they exist or not. Lemme know what ya think :)

Open some resorts at Southeast Anatolia such a good idea, but .. as u know there is always a “ but “ hide somewhere .. but really hard target for reach it.

    For several reason ..

First .. we are talking about Souteastern Part of Anatolia, isn’t? ( red part )

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/80/Turkey_southeast_anatolia.jpg

.. let’s look at there again.

    http://www.adiyamanli.org/south_eastern_anatolia.htm

yeah, lot of Historical Monuments .. water reserves ( lakes, rivers ) and natural things there .. but this area surround by Syria – Iraq and Iran borderlines too.

That’s the problem, as u know some parts of our country had borders with some un – balanced states like Iraq. We had serious “security” issues there because those borders. Smuggling, Illegal Traffic even terrorism still problems we had.

Bad thing is we can’t solve those problems because those problems Multi national , International issues .. without stabilization at this soil no one want to build that kind of resorts there.

After the stabilization I’m sure this will be manageable but not now, nor soon.

.. bottom line, such a brilliant Idea but timing .. u know.

Islands of Adventure field trip help?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure trip | 2 Comments »

i am going to islands of adventure for a field trip but i am so scared of riding the hulk and dueling dragons and dr dooms fearfall. I want to ride them so bad but when i go there i change my mind help i dont want to be a baby while my friends do it.

In my opinion Fearfall is nothing at all. It’s not that exciting, even for a free fall ride. It’s probably the tamest one. It does not go as high or as fast as other free falls I have been on.

Dueling Dragons is probably the scariest, just because your feet dangle. So maybe you start with Fearfall, then Hulk, then Dragons and work your way up.

If you want to ride with your friends, just try to keep your mind off what you are doing. Talk in line. Try not to think about it. Then when you get there, just jump on. Chances are you will like them.

when Gen X of this country shun religious tours and participate in adventure sports ?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure tours | 1 Comment »

I am amazed to see Gen X is either celebrating HOLI, DIWALI or Lohri instaed of participating adventure sports . When shal that happen ?
This is the Gen X so devoted to religion of muslim hate – hate syndrome and dedicated to AASTHA ka DOOKAN.

Lets hope not, if you are not interested in religious activities it’s your personal liberty to do so why do you think others have to abide to such atheistic propaganda

World Adventure, I’m planning to travel the world, Where should I go to find adventure?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under adventure travel | 6 Comments »

Im going to start in Japan at Mt fuji ( I have to return a rock that i took from there), IM planning to cycle across russia and china, but from there the plan has been left open. I dont care too much about england, australia or america. i plan to travel over a two year period. How should i plan the journey to make the adventure awsome?

The adventure is what you give it, and therefore receive. You cannot plan too far ahead, except loosely, because things happen that change and often radically.

As a clue, check out the different festivals in different cultures around the World. That is where you often have the greatest of human experiences and exceptional regional education, to say nothing of the numerous invitations.

With the right attitude and a bit of creativity, two blocks from home is an adventure.
